Riassunto analitico
The main objective of the candidate’s research activity has been the development of new haptic technologies for applications in medical robotics. In particular, the research of the candidate covers the fields of capsule endoscopy and vibro-tactile assistive devices, thus addressing the two topics of tactile sensing and actuation for haptic stimulation. In the former case, an innovative tactile sensing device is meant to autonomously classify a cancerous tissue (with possible future development involving haptic feedback to the physician – man in the loop strategy), in the latter an haptic device, more specifically a vibro-tactile actuator, is employed as an assisting tool for auditory and visual impaired subjects.
