Riassunto analitico
This work presents the matching circuit design for the bond wire inductance which takes place between the MachZehnder modulator and the driver circuit. The silicon photonic chip has a wire connection with the PCB, this wire can lead to deteriorate the RF circuit performance, there will be slight unwanted effects along with it. To compensate that a matching circuit is needed. The matching circuit has been designed so that it can be matched to the system characteristic impedance of 50Ω within a given frequency range of 10GHz. Two matching circuit have been proposed. First circuit is connected to a wire of 2,07 μm and the second circuit is connected to a wire of 1.5 μm. The simulation results of the matching circuits show that we obtain 1GHz bandwidth at 10 GHz frequency, we obtained matching at 9.3GHz for the first circuit and matching at 9.6GHz for the second circuit with an insertion loss which is less than -0.5dBm. A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout which has matching at 10GHz and an insertion loss less than -0.5dBm has been designed and simulated for one of the circuits.
