A 50 year-old gentleman was admitted to our unit with a severe stroke and he underwent to a mechanical thrombectomy with paresis improvement. We diagnosed him a patent foramen ovale(PFO) and we performed an endovascular closure of the PFO. What follows is a brief review of the indications and the techniques for the PFO closure.
