Riassunto analitico
Computing technologies are undergoing a relentless evolution, driven by continuous advancements in hardware and software technologies for low-latency and reliable networking, virtualization, computing, and storage services, among others. As a result, cloud infrastructures are becoming increasingly attractive for deploying a broad range of emerging use cases, including applications with stringent timing constraints. However, despite the availability of public Cloud offerings and of product suites for deploying in-house private Cloud infrastructures, there is no readily available solution for handling time-critical applications with predictable end-to-end timing requirements. This thesis presents and explores the multi-domain challenge of designing a cloud infrastructure with end-to-end latency guarantees.
