ABSTRACT
The education of every child is a fundamental human right as prescribed by Article 26 (1) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 and Article 28 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, the education of migrant children in any country remains a complicated issue since these children do not always have the necessary documents required for their enrollment into school like native children. As a result, their sponsors have to go through lengthy processes to obtain these documents for their proper enrollment into school.
This document aims at showing the role played by the local authorities of the Italian Province of Pisa, Tuscany Region in the education of migrant children in the Province of Pisa. The document is made up of four chapters. Chapter one examines the structure of the Italian educational system and the origin of migrant children in the Italian Province of Pisa. Chapter two highlights the role played by the various actors engaged in the education of migrant children in the Italian Province of Pisa. Chapter three on its part presents the legal framework and the effectiveness of the education of migrant children in the Province of Pisa. Finally chapter four explores the challenges and subsequent recommendations to these challenges.
