The integration of management systems is a practice increasingly used in the world of both public and private organizations. This is due to a well-proven series of benefits connected to it. This study focused on the analysis, compared with the existing literature, of motivations (rationalization and simplification of business processes, achievement of strategic objectives etc.), difficulties (establishment of a change of mentality among workers, management of internal conflicts etc.) and benefits (saving resources, greater efficiency and efficacy of business processes, etc.) related to the integration of systems in a public company of the third sector that deals with the urban hygiene service in 6 municipalities adjacent to the city of Lucca, in Tuscany. The information gathered here was retrieved through an interview submitted to the Management System Team composed of the managers of the 4 management systems present in the company: the QMS (Quality Management System) ISO 9001: 2015, the EMS (Environmental Management System) ISO 14001: 2015, the OHSMS (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) BS OHSAS 18001 and the ABMS (Anti-Bribery Management System) ISO 37001: 2016. Furthermore, this document contributes to the understanding of how a company chooses to integrate its standardized management systems (SG), at what level and in what order. It also demonstrates that companies integrate their SGs rather than keeping them separate, thus showing a general tendency towards integration.
